Mike Major will be celebrating his eighteenth year with SunTrust
Bank and it's predecessors (Loyola Federal and Crestar) by returning
to the Pikesville marketplace in April 2008. Most recently, Mike
had opened the new Federal Hill branch of SunTrust in 2005, after
managing the Charles Street location in Mount Vernon from 2003-2004.
From 1994-2002, Mike had been a fixture at the Pikesville branch,
where he honed his craft as a branch banker. He also spent time
in the bank's branches in Ellicott City and Catonsville (where
he grew up and still resides).
Mike is a two-time EdgeLeader with SunTrust in recognization
of his outstanding sales and service record. In 2003, Mike was
made an officer of the bank, and was most recently elevated to
Vice President of Retail Banking in 2007.
In 2008, Mike's goal will be commercial development and management
of over 200 select business relationships. The majority of these
accounts will be based around three hub offices:
Pikesville (Reisterstown Road near the Beltway)
Pikesville South (Reisterstown Road at Seven Mile Lane)
Greenspring (Smith Avenue in Mount Washington)
However, Mike's portfolio includes many clients from around
the region, including Baltimore City and the counties of Anne
Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Montgomery.
His efforts are supported by the 225 branches SunTrust maintains
in the Baltimore-Washington corridor (which is part of SunTrust's
national footprint of locations, covering 11 Southeastern states
and the District of Columbia.)
Some of the services Mike provides as a commercial banker include:
* Commercial Deposit accounts and services
* Commercial Mortgages (owner occupied and investment property)
* Commercial Lines of Credit
* Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Loans
* Treasury Management Services (incuding lockbox, sweep accounts,
wire transfer, and online check deposit)
* Merchant Services
* Personal banking for business owners
* Workplace banking for businesses with 25 or more employees
* Comprehensive relationship management with a consultative
approach
A great referral for Mike Major would be any business owner
in the Baltimore area (especially Pikesville, Owings Mills, Randallstown,
Stevenson, and Reisterstown), new or established, with annual
revenues of up to $10 million, looking for a superior commercial
banking relationship. This includes professional services, retail
operations, manufacturing and warehousing, as well as non-for-profit
organizations.
In addition to his commercial duties, Mike is also a member
of the SunTrust Diversity Committee for Greater Washington/Maryland.
He has served as a board member with several community organizations.
Mike is an alumnus of Mount St. Joseph High School (class of
1985) and attended James Madison University of the University
of Baltimore.
